ZEHNDER DANCE

Angelina Cohen is a Massachusetts-based movement artist interested in dance as a means of release, resistance, and discovery, as it relates to human experience, connection, and potential. She began her training with Mystic Ballet, dancing in their pre-professional program and joining them on tour in Serbia in 2019, before going on to earn her B.A. in Dance and Psychology from Springfield College. Angelina has had the pleasure of performing works by Monica Bill Barnes, Tatianna Desardouin, Darrell Grand Moultrie, and Didy Veldman, as well as a solo created collaboratively with David Dorfman. She joined Zehnder Dance in 2022, and since then has been honored to perform at prestigious venues and festivals including Jacob’s Pillow, the American Dance Guild Festival at the Ailey Citigroup Theatre, DUMBO Dance Festival, WAXworks at Triskelion Arts, The Evening of Contemporary Dance Performance Series (NYC), the Versatility Dance Festival, KoDaFe, and the Women in Dance Leadership Conference. In addition to her work with Zehnder Dance, Angelina is a trainee with Boston-based KAIROS Dance Theater, as well as a teacher at Velocity Dance Company.

Alexis Von Maluski (she/her)  is a Filipino-American dance artist based in Brooklyn, New York, and Rhode Island. Her earliest introduction to movement was learning traditional Filipino dance, which sparked her passion for celebrating diversity through the integration of culture and embodied movement. In school, she trained in modern techniques, contemporary, hip hop, commercial, jazz, and more. Alexis has been recognized by the Lin-Manuel Miranda Family Fellowship, a scholarship supporting diverse artists, and is a recipient of the Yetta Rauch Melcer Award for Excellence in Dance. She has performed works by a wide range of choreographers, including David Dorfman, Kimberly Bartosik, Adrienne Hawkins, Jessica T. Pearson, Kat Pantos, Shani Collins-Achillle. She has also been featured in Marta Renzi’s short films, Tumult (2019), Through Mabel's Eyes (2020), and A Day’s Work (2023), which was also performed live at the University Settlement House NY. In Rhode Island, Alexis danced with Metamorphosis Dance Company, participated in the RI Choreography Project (2024 & 2025), and performed The Encounter, an intergenerational physical-theatre project. Most recently, Alexis performed at Jacob’s Pillow with Zehnder Dance and is excited to continue developing and sharing the company’s work. She is currently thrilled to be dancing with Zehnder Dance.

Sara Thoreson is a dancer, artist, choreographer, and performer currently based in NYC. Sara grew up dancing in North Idaho, spent a couple years in San Antonio, Texas, and journeyed to New York for the Fordham University and Ailey School BFA program. She now holds her BFA in Dance and Sociology. Sara has trained in ballet, contemporary, modern techniques, partnering, and more for almost 20 years. She has performed works by Maleek Washington, Rebecca Margolick, Alexander Anderson, and worked collaboratively on a solo with Georgia Usborne. She has worked with artists Scott Jennings, Marion Sparber, Jacob Jonas the Company, Hoyoung Im, and more. Sara has interned at Lincoln Center since 2023, along with a myriad of other arts administration experiences, and is now the Contracts and Payment Coordinator with the Programming team there. This year, she has been blessed to choreograph for Unbound Dance Collective at Triskelion Arts, been in residency with collaborator Stormwrks at Creaturespace, performed with Tabula Rasa Dance Theater, apprenticed with Dishman and Co Choreography, and is a part of Zehnder Dance.

Anna Stribrny (she/her) is a Brooklyn based artist who aims to share stories through dance. Most recently engaged in the creative process with Madison Hicks, Monica Bill Barnes & Company, Takehiro Ueyama, and Larry Keigwin, she strives to challenge her physical limits, find intricacies, and uncover the beauty in the ugly. Anna has performed professionally with BalletX in their touring show at S.P.A.C. Little Theater in March 2024, and with ODC/Dance in their touring show at SUNY Albany in the spring of 2023. Anna joined Zehnder Dance in August 2024 and is thrilled to be performing in her first season with the company. As a dance artist, she loves the exhilaration of performing live and embodying a character. She often finds herself blurring the lines between commercial and concert dance, creating movement that feels undefined. Influenced by her art history studies, Anna enjoys mixing mediums to explore the interdisciplinary potential of art.
